Teaching in the AI Era
Call for Essays
All instructors of Core classes are invited to submit a short pedagogical essay on the topic of “protecting critical thinking in our new AI era.” If you are adapting to the challenges of AI and finding new (or old) ways of protecting critical thinking, we would love to hear from you! We plan to post selected essays to a new webpage resource for all Baylor Core faculty members. Essays will be organized by Distribution List and should be short enough for faculty to read relatively quickly (around 300-500 words).
We hope this resource helps all of us who teach in the Core to
- become more fully aware of the challenges presented by AI not just in our own disciplines, but also in other disciplines (because our students take classes throughout the Core and we should be knowledgeable about what they are experiencing), and
- get inspiration and ideas that we can implement in our own classes.
Essays can be submitted at any time to Ginger_Hanchey@baylor.edu. We will begin reviewing submissions on May 1 and will accept submissions continuously throughout the summer. Please email if you have any questions.
